Amazing Victory for VSO

Today, April 9th 2009 VSO, Brimstone, and Jessica A.K.A. Winner had a Starcraft free for all challenge. We all played with Terran in a vicious fight for survival and superiority. Jessica and Brimstone duked it out while Brimstone swooped in at the oppurtune moment when Jessica and Brimstone's battles ended.

At the end, the ground men of Brimstone and Jessica couldn't stand against VSO's fleet of fully upgraded wraiths and battle cruisers. Soon, with much time and tedious planning VSO flew in and tore down his opponents bases. The only reason he won was because of the disadvantage of small groups of ground units against several fleets of fully upgrade air. I can't tell you the stats but VSO came out in first, with Brimstone then Jessica trailing behind. It was an epic game.

The Brood - Nine Days

The Brood is 9 days into its April Tournament, and things are going pretty well. Basically, Brimstone is demolishing any and everyone in his path, while the rest of us are watching our men die. I'm just kidding.

A few of us have won some games, but not as many as Brimstone. The deadliest alliance is not yet determined, but it seems to either be shadow15 and Jessica or Brimstone and whoever is on his team.

It's only been nine days, but it seems like a whole month. I think it's going really well, even if I haven't won that many games. Memebers of The Brood, tell us how you feel the tournament is going.
I am currently in the process of making a StarCraft:The Brood Documentary/podcast thing. I'm not so sure how its going to work out, but I've begun work on it already. Hopefully it will look nice.

Fun Game

Hello this is the Victorious Squad of One. We just finished our Starcraft game on the map Dark Continent. It was quite fun. I ended up at third place. I was Protoss and I was doing quite good. Then Esther comes and attacks me with like 12 Guardians. Since I didn't have any air and I had a little bit of Dragoons I was wiped out and forced to expand at the bottom right corner of the board next to Josiah.

I tried my best but at the end succumbed to millions of Daddy's carriers. However I had to get revenge. So, I took my probes and ran up the map making pylons. I had to survive long enough to do some damage to daddy. I built 7 random pylons on the map. That was all that was left. My base had died(sniffle sniffle). So I destroyed daddy's original base(doing nothing but giving me personal satisfaction) then I got greedy and tried to kill another of daddy's base. By then the carriers had come.

My death. By then daddy had killed all but 2 of my pylons. I knew I was dead, so I lead one of Jessica's Dragoon's to my pylons and finally was eliminated. A heroic game.

shadow15 ground to dust

So the tournament has begun, and for me it has ended. Unfortunatley, I just couldn't match the awesome power of Carriers with my measly Zerg forces. It's just, I am so in love with the Zerg that it's hard for me to play with other races. It was a most horrible defeat, but I aim to do better in the next round of the Tournament. Here is the unofficial banner for the brood.

Ready for the tournament to begin? Here is a weird looking picture from Brood War to remind you how it feels to be under the total control of the Zerg forces.

Att. The Brood

Starting April 1, 2009, the first official StarCraft Tournament will be held by The Brood. In this post, I will go over the details of the tournament. If you have anything to add, put it in the comments and I'll add it in.

I. Terms and Conditions

Anyone can participate, but they must register at the TagBoard on The Brood's blog. Simply write your name and that you register for the StarCraft Tournament.

II. The Tournament

There are two rounds of the Tournament, the first will be an eliminating round, while the other round will be a team melee. During Round One, there will be 10 games and out of these free-for-all games, the top 3 will battle it out. Then, it will be a one on one and the winner will be the champion of Free-for-all.

During the Team Melee, there will be 12 games: 6 of them with a team chosen by the players, the other 6 with a team picked out of hat. Then, the team with the most points will battle it out in a best out of three to see who forms the deadly alliance.

Honorable Mention

The following blog deserves an honorable mention, it would be a great basis for a Broodwar Movie:

If anyone asks you where the Victorious Squad of One is tell them "No I do not know this man you speak of, I do not know this man you speak of". This is the Victorious(but lately repeatedly defeated) Squad of One. I am running from the "Strong" because having eradicated all the "weak", only the Strong have survived. I should have thought of that before I attacked the"weak". Now, the little "weak" that have survived have joined with the "Strong" and now of all of them are "Strong". Now I am the "weak".

I fear for my life as I huddle in my cave. The "Strong" have passed by, but any moment they can find me. Now that I have treated the "weak" so bad, the "Strong" will spare me no mercy. I plead the "Strong" for mercy but I'm not sure I am worthy. Please someone, tell the "Strong" of my repentance so that I can once again fly in the skies freely. I have learned that the ones who name themselves "Strong" and attack the "weak" to obliterate them and feel good are really weak themselves because they cannot face the true power of the strong.

Oh no!!! The Hydralisks have found the cave and have called the Dark Templars to aid them. I can hear the Carriers overhead. I pray my message has got out or my fate has been sealed.

For the LoveLorn

For those who are bereft of love, here are some sweet nothings from Starcraft.

Friday, March 27, 2009

Hello this is the Victorious Squad of One

All you who are going to play do not. For why play if you shall only lose?Victory shall be mine whether by the falling debris of Protoss carriers, pulverizing goo acids of the Zerg, or spontaneous explosions of Terran nuclear launches.

I shall win.

The Brood

What is 'The Brood'? I've decided, that starting in April, we're gonna have a sort of StarCraft League, where we play games, list winners and losers. Even though it officially begins in April, some tournament dates are in March. Those are unofficial.

It will be dedicated to just the league (or The Brood), so anyone part of it will be able to put posts on this blog, writing about games and stuff.

Our ensigna will be the little StarCraft desktop shortcut. If any members want to write anything, just go ahead, and make a post. make sure to put your name in the label section, so we can easily find any posts you've made.
